Background

Swakopmund, Namibia – The Swakopmund International Trade Expo (SWAITEX) is currently underway, drawing local and international businesses to the coast. Established in 2013, SWAITEX aims to foster networking opportunities and promote business ventures for Namibian entrepreneurs.

Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Masisi and First Lady Neo Jane are esteemed guests of honor at SWAITEX 2024, underscoring the event’s regional significance.

Obrien Simasiku, the Communications Coordinator for SWAITEX, highlighted the diverse participation at this year’s expo. “We have exhibitors from Ghana, Botswana, and South Africa complementing our local companies like Nampot,” Simasiku stated. “In addition to business interactions, we offer activities such as quad biking, ensuring there’s something for everyone.”

Simasiku encouraged the Namibian public to attend, emphasizing the expo’s role in connecting businesses and providing essential services. “SWAITEX is pivotal in enhancing Namibia’s trade relations and fostering new competitive advantages,” he added.

Having evolved over eight years since its inception, SWAITEX continues to innovate as a world-class trade expo. It integrates exhibitions, business seminars, B2B meetings, networking sessions, industrial exchanges, product launches, and promotions, positioning itself as a key platform for trade and investment promotion in Namibia.

The expo remains a cornerstone in expanding Namibia’s global economic footprint and cultivating fruitful partnerships across industries.
