There’s been consensus reached at U.S Democratic Party meetings on whether US president Joe Biden should suspend his reelection bid. The make-or-break private sessions saw Democrats in both the House and Senate discuss the president’s future, but without reaching any decisions. Chair of the House Democratic Caucus Pete Aguilar agreed there were differing opinions at Tuesday’s meeting. But pushed back on suggestions Biden is losing support.

Meanwhile at the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre again fielded questions about Biden’s mental fitness to stand for reelection.
