Former Education Minister Katrina Hanse-Himarwa Passes Away at 57

Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, the former Education, Arts and Culture minister, passed away on yesterday morning at the age of 57. Her husband, Ghenno Himarwa, confirmed her death. Throughout her career, Hanse-Himarwa served as the Governor of the Hardap Region and was a member of the Swapo Party’s central committee and politburo. She resigned from her ministerial position in July 2019 following a corruption conviction by the Windhoek High Court. Hanse-Himarwa died in a hospital in Windhoek.
