Background

The 11th Mining Expo and Conference, underway in Windhoek, has achieved record-breaking support with 199 exhibitors occupying 317 booths—an 18.3% increase from last year. Zebra Kasete, President of the Chamber of Mines of Namibia, highlighted the event’s success in attracting 22 SADC firms and three international companies. The expo aims to showcase Namibia’s mining industry, provide information, and create business opportunities. Kasete also raised concerns about how the mining sector can sustainably benefit citizens beyond taxes and royalties.
