Former US lawmaker George Santos pleads guilty to corruption charges

Former US Representative George Santos pleaded guilty to criminal corruption charges on Monday. The disgraced New York lawmaker appeared in a Long Island court where he admitted wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. In a statement, prosecutors said his “flagrant and disgraceful conduct has been exposed and will be punished”. Santos could now face time behind bars. Here’s our Sally Patterson with more.
