The Electoral Commission of Namibia has announced that it will conduct a mock verification exercise for the upgraded Integrated Mobile Voter Registration System. This follows the completion of the “Integrated Solution,” which connects the voter registration, identification and verification, political party and organisation registration, nominations, and election results management modules. ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka says the improved system leverages mobile technology to make voter verification more efficient on polling day.

In a media release issued on 25 August 2024, the Commission further explained that only Namibian citizens who registered during the period of 03 June – 01 August 2024 will be able to participate in the Mock Verification Exercise irrespective of their constituencies where they have registered.

This exercise will be conducted from 30 – 31 August 2024.
