The office of the Media Ombudsman, in collaboration with its partners, has released the findings from the recently launched 2024 Presidential and National Assembly Elections Media Monitoring Report. The report includes media coverage from June to July 2024. Media Ombudsman, Dr John Nakuta.

The report suggests that having manifestos ready early—ideally by January—could create better engagement with the media and ensure more comprehensive coverage.

The report also indicates a need for political parties to improve their media presence by providing relevant content and engaging proactively with media houses. Although the report offers a wealth of information, it acknowledges a degree of disappointment over the low turnout of political parties at the presentation event.
