More wireless devices, and walkie-talkies explode in Lebanon

A series of deadly attacks have rocked Lebanon, with walkie-talkie bombs claiming at least 20 lives and injuring 450 in a recent assault targeting Hezbollah. This follows a day of violence involving pager blasts that resulted in 12 deaths, including children, and left thousands injured nationwide.

In response to the escalating conflict, the Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in six locations. These military actions came shortly after Israel’s defense minister announced a “new era” of war, raising alarms about the potential for a wider conflict in the region.

Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, expressed deep concerns that these attacks might signal the beginning of a more extensive military engagement in the Middle East.

In light of the ongoing violence, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint. He called for an immediate halt to the escalating violence, emphasizing the need for diplomatic solutions to restore peace.

The situation remains tense as Lebanon grapples with the repercussions of these attacks, while the international community closely monitors developments in the region.
