Windhoek, Namibia – The Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HP-GSB), part of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), has proudly announced its Bronze Membership with the prestigious Business Graduates Association (BGA), making HP-GSB the first and only business school in Namibia to receive this international recognition.

The announcement was made during a press conference held today at the NUST Hotel School, attended by esteemed faculty members, students, media, and stakeholders. This landmark achievement underscores HP-GSB’s commitment to providing world-class business education and fostering innovation, leadership, and ethical business practices in Namibia.

Prof. Efigenia Semente, Executive Dean of Commerce, Human Sciences, and Education at NUST, opened the event by expressing her pride in the institution’s growth. She highlighted how the BGA membership aligns with HP-GSB’s strategic objectives of academic excellence, global competitiveness, and stakeholder engagement.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andrew Niikondo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Teaching, Learning, and Technology, emphasized the significance of this recognition. “This membership opens doors to international collaboration, providing our students and faculty access to a global network of esteemed institutions. It reinforces our mission to drive innovation and leadership in the business education landscape,” Prof. Niikondo stated.

Dr. Hylton Villet, Director of HP-GSB, also expressed his gratitude and outlined the benefits that the BGA membership will bring to the institution. “This is the first step towards achieving full international accreditation with the Association of MBAs (AMBA). The BGA will provide us with expert mentorship, consultancy services, and access to a global community that will enhance the quality of our programs and increase HP-GSB’s visibility on the world stage,” Dr. Villet explained.

Ms. Helena Mootseng, a Master of Leadership and Change Management student at HP-GSB, shared her perspective on the impact this achievement will have on students. “The BGA membership connects us to a global network of resources, internships, and career development opportunities, giving us the tools we need to compete in the global market,” she said.

The BGA membership will benefit HP-GSB by enhancing the institution’s global standing, providing students with unparalleled career support, and offering faculty professional development opportunities through workshops and conferences. It also brings new possibilities for collaboration with international business schools and industries.

The next step for HP-GSB

The school aims to achieve full AMBA accreditation, positioning itself globally among the elite business schools. This recognition will provide further opportunities for growth and development, ensuring HP-GSB continues to deliver high-quality education that meets international standards.
