Electoral Commission Responds To Political Parties Challenging It Over Controversial Tender

Several political parties have lodged complaints with the Electoral Commission of Namibia  for awarding a N$6.2-million ballot-printing tender to Ren-Form, a South African company linked to Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who is under investigation for election corruption. Some parties accuse Zimbabwe’s Zanu-PF of interfering in Namibia’s elections, prompting calls from opposition leaders, like PDM’s McHenry Venaani, for President Nangolo Mbumba to address the issue.
