The Municipal Council of Windhoek is set to construct a Waste-to-Energy Plant aimed at generating bulk electricity while improving waste management. This initiative seeks to diversify the energy supply, enhance electricity security, and lower carbon emissions. A pre-feasibility study has recently been completed to evaluate the project’s viability, paving the way for a detailed feasibility study that will examine different operational scenarios and inform the plant’s development.
