The United States has expressed confidence that the political dispute in South Korea is resolved peacefully and within the rule of law. This follows President Yoon Suk Yeol’s declaration of emergency martial law, citing security concerns over North Korea. However, South Korean lawmakers voted to block the president’s power after protests outside Parliament. From Washington, Benji Hyer reports.
