Opuwo Slaughterhouse to Be Upgraded into Modern Abattoir

Background

The Agriculture ministry has revealed plans to upgrade the existing Opuwo slaughterhouse into a fully functional abattoir. This development aims to enable local farmers in the Kunene region to slaughter cattle and small stock within the region. The upgraded facility will feature dedicated slaughter lines for both cattle and small stock, enhancing operational efficiency and providing a local market for small stock. The announcement was made by Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata, Executive Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, during her visit to Opuwo in Kunene region.
