Delimitation report recommends 10 new constituencies

Background

 

President Nangolo Mbumba officially received the final report from the Delimitation and Demarcation Commission.

The Delimitation and Demarcation Commission, chaired by Petrus Unengu, has recommended seven regional adjustments, ten new constituencies, 61 boundary changes, and the renaming of two constituencies. Unengu presented the report to President Nangolo Mbumba at State House on Tuesday, who confirmed it would be reviewed by Cabinet before public release.

 

 

President Nangolo Mbumba on Tuesday, 21 January 2025,  commended the commission for their diligence, patience, and commitment to inclusivity. According to the Presidency, President Mbumba said, “We are proud that the commission considered all regions and constituencies, focusing on population dynamics and service accessibility. The recommendations will now be studied and presented to Cabinet in accordance with the Namibian Constitution and laws.”
