Apple TV+’s Severance has emerged as the standout winner in nominations for the 77th Emmy Awards, clinching 27 nods—the most of any series this year. The New York Times reports that close behind, HBO Max’s The Penguin received 24 nominations, while The White Lotus and The Studio each earned 23.

Apple TV+ swept the Emmy landscape, amassing a total of 81 nominations across 14 titles, including standout contenders like Slow Horses, Shrinking, and Bad Sisters. The platform also led in acting nominations, tallying 31 individual performance nominations.

HBO and HBO Max dominated network categories with a combined 142 nominations, overtaking Netflix’s 120 and Apple’s 79. Notably, The Penguin received key lead acting and limited series nominations for Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti, while The White Lotus reinforced its prestige status with high-profile nods in acting and writing categories.

Industry critics predict Severance is a frontrunner for Outstanding Drama Series, leveraging strong showmanship and critical acclaim. In comedy, The Studio is expected to continue its award season momentum following a record-tying nomination run among first-year comedies
