Namibia has unveiled plans to develop a Film and Creative City, announced by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The project, to be established as a Special Economic Zone, will include film production facilities, training platforms, and hospitality services. Government officials say the initiative aims to create jobs, attract investment, and boost tourism, positioning Namibia as a leading creative hub in Africa.

Catherine Shipushu, Senior Manager for Marketing, Communications, and Branding at the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), spoke to Future Media about the potential opportunities this project offers for investors and the broader creative industry.

Investors are invited to express interest in the project, with incentives such as secure land allocations and fast-tracked permits to facilitate development.
