Sixteen-year-old Joanivia Bezuidenhout was crowned Namibia’s female tennis champion after winning the Namibia Tennis Association Senior Masters Championship held over the weekend at Olympia’s Central Tennis Courts in Windhoek.

Bezuidenhout defeated Mari van Schalkwyk in a closely contested three-set final, securing the title with scores of 6-1, 6-7 (9), and 6-3.

Having started playing tennis at the age of nine, Bezuidenhout has steadily climbed the ranks in both local and international competitions. She noted that her recent achievements on the world stage have strengthened her resolve to continue improving her performance.

The Senior Masters Championship is one of Namibia’s premier tennis events, showcasing the country’s top-ranked players across divisions.
