Namibia has officially signed the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime, joining 65 nations in the global fight against digital crime. The agreement was signed in Hanoi, Vietnam, by Information and Communication Technology Minister Emma Theofelus. Adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2024, the treaty seeks to strengthen international cooperation against cyber threats, including online fraud, child exploitation, and money laundering. The convention will take effect once 40 member states ratify it.
