ACC arrests former Otavi Town Council official over corruption

Otavi Town Council’s former Human Resource Officer, Erenst Strupie Gaoab was granted N$10,000 bail by the Otjiwarongo Regional Court, following his arrest on corruption charges.

Gaoab was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission on 23 March and charged for allegedly corruptly using his position for gratification, while he was acting as Chief Executive Officer.

It is alleged that the official unlawfully promoted himself to a non-existent position of Manager for Human Resources.

His next court appearance will be on 12 May 2026.
