Suspected human skeletal remains discovered in Omusati Region

Police in the Omusati Region have opened an inquest following the discovery of suspected human skeletal remains at Onkaankaa village in the Otamanzi Constituency.

According to police, the remains were discovered on Thursday at around 16h00 in nearby bushes.

The skeletal remains consist of a skull, backbone, and several other bones believed to be of human origin.

During a search of the surrounding area, a navy-blue denim trouser was also found at what is believed to be the primary scene.

The remains have since been transported to the Okahao Police Mortuary for further examination.

The identity of the deceased is currently unknown, and the next of kin have not yet been informed. 

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
