US lawmakers targeted by bomb threats

  Several U.S. lawmakers were targeted in bomb threats on Thanksgiving. Four House representatives in the state of Connecticut were affected after similar threats were made against Republican nominees for Donald Trump's new cabinet. Ira Spitzer reports.

Education Ministry Sets January Target for Exam Results

  Marking of national exams is proceeding as planned, according to the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. Ordinary level scripts will be marked by 12 December, with results anticipated in the third week of January 2025, says Executive Director Sanet Steenkamp.

Cape Winelands Fire Services Make Significant Progress in Fighting Paarl Mountain Blaze

The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services report significant progress overnight in battling a fire on Paarl mountain. Cooler temperatures and reduced winds aided containment efforts, but hot spots and active fire lines persist. Spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto says that aerial and ground crews remain deployed, with flare-ups likely due to warm weather and vegetation. She confirmed that teams continue firefighting and mopping-up operations:
