DA in Gauteng Raises Alarm Over Sexual Offenders in Schools

  In S.A, the DA in Gauteng says learners in the province are alarmingly being exposed to sexual offenders and predators within their school environments. The provincial Department of Education has revealed that out of the 86-thousand-367 employees in public schools, only eight-thousand-782 have been vetted against the National Register for Sexual Offences. The DA’s Michael Waters says among those vetted, nine employees were identified as convicted sexual offenders:

Boro Ndungula Speaks Out on Rejected Cannabis March

  Boro Ndungula, Secretary General of the Ganja Users of Namibia, condemned the police's rejection of their cannabis legalization march, citing concerns over the participation of foreign nationals. He argues that the Inspector General's actions violate constitutional rights, particularly the right to peaceful assembly. Ndungula is now seeking an apology from the Inspector General and pursuing the matter with the Office of the Ombudsman.

Medical Interns Demand Overtime Pay or Halt Overtime Work

Over 300 medical interns are threatening to stop working overtime unless the government settles their outstanding overtime pay within five days. The interns, employed by the Health and Social Services ministry, staged a protest in Windhoek and submitted a petition to the Office of the Prime Minister. If their concerns remain unaddressed, they plan to limit their working hours to 40 hours per week, as per Health Professions Council guidelines.
