Musician Alleges Police Links to Drug Trade

Local musician Jericho Gawanab has alleged that some members of law enforcement are working in collusion with drug dealers, leaving communities to suffer the consequences of addiction and rising crime. Speaking to our reporter Ludorf Iyambo, Gawanab claimed that the widespread availability of drugs would not be possible without internal support, adding that even senior officials are aware of those involved in the trade.

 Competition Commission Appeal Over Price Fixing Rejected

The Supreme Court has dismissed the Competition Commission’s appeal against the Pharmaceutical Society in a price-fixing probe. Bullying in schools is increasingly worrying experts, who say it undermines learners’ academic performance, mental health, and self-esteem, and can even lead to suicide. The issue has gained attention after a 2024 video showed a learner assaulting others in a hostel. Deputy Minister of Education Dino Ballotti added his comment on the matter:

Repatriated Refugees Defy Eviction Deadline at Ruling Party Offices

Members of former refugees repatriated in 1989 have refused to leave the SWAPO party’s premises by 10am this past Tuesday deadline. Speaking to our journalist, Josia Shigwedha, group representative Julius Mukuve said they demand a 2006 United Nations letter containing the information they seek, rather than the verbal accounts they have been receiving.
