Voter Registration Drive Registers Over 366,000

The Electoral Commission has reported that since the General Registration of Voters began on June 3, a total of 366,036 eligible Namibians have registered, averaging close to 30 thousand registrations per day from June 10 to June 15. The GRV will continue until August 1, operating Monday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm as the Commission urges all eligible citizens to register promptly.

Heatwave intensifies across U.S

Record-breaking temperatures are expected across the United States, as a heat dome continues to intensify over the northeast of the country. Several states have opened cooling centres in libraries, town halls, and other public spaces to help residents without air conditioning. It comes as many Americans celebrate Juneeteenth on Wednesday, a federal holiday commemorating the ending of slavery. Sally Patterson reports.

Over 300,000 Namibian households lack adequate housing and sanitation, with most being ultra-low and low-income families unable to enter the formal housing market, according to Erongo Governor, Neville Andre Itope.
