The Cape Winelands District Municipality says the Brandvlei and Bainskloof fires have been contained while the fire line at Matroosberg is not yet under control. Yesterday evening the Brandvlei fire was burning out of control and made its way to the grounds of the Brandvlei Prison. The municipality’s spokesperson, Anesca Roodt, says a small, corrugated storage structure was destroyed; however, there was no further loss of property.
