She tabled the Municipal Economic Review and Outlook 2023/2024 in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament this week. Wenger says the outlook reflects the province’s adaptability and resilience in the face of changing economic paradigms.

South Africa's opposition leader, Julius Malema, and five other MPs from the Economic Freedom Fighters party received a one-month suspension without pay from parliament. BBC Africa reports that the punishment, due to contempt of parliament, resulted from their actions of storming the stage during President Cyril Ramaphosa's state of the nation address in February. The committee found them guilty, leading to Malema being escorted from the hall by security.

Cape Town mayor says the city will deploy lifeguards and policing personnel to beaches

Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says the city will deploy 340 lifeguards and 330 policing personnel to beaches across the metro during the festive season. He launched the City’s Festive Beach Safety plans at Big Bay Surf Lifesaving Club yesterday.
