U.S urges restraint following Iran’s attack on Israel

U.S President Joseph Biden is meeting Iraq's Prime Minister in Washington, as countries urge restraint in the Middle East. Israel is weighing up how to respond to Iran's unprecedented attack over the weekend, when it launched 100s of drones and missiles, which were nearly all intercepted. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to reporters in Washington and reiterated the US request to Israel for de-escalation, not retaliation.

IAEA concerned about a nuclear disaster in Ukraine

The International Atomic Energy Agency says the world is getting dangerously close to a nuclear accident. The warning comes after several drone attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in southeastern Ukraine. Speaking at the UN Security Council on Monday, Rafael Mariano Grossi, the Director General of the IAEA said everything must be done to minimize the risk of an accident. He says these "reckless attacks" must cease immediately.
