US-Venezuela prisoner swaps sees Americans freed

Venezuela has released ten detained Americans in a move aimed at easing sanctions on the country, as announced by the government in Caracas. The release was part of a negotiated prisoner exchange facilitated by Qatar. In exchange, the United States freed an individual accused of money laundering, reportedly having close ties to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The vote was first scheduled for Monday but due to "intense" negotiations between member states the vote has been postponed several times.
