Russian president Vladimir Putin will not attend the 2025 G20 summit in South Africa, as previously anticipated. The decision follows a pending arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court over alleged war crimes. U.S Senate confirms Kash Patel as new FBI director

Kash Patel, a longtime loyalist to U.S President Donald Trump, has been confirmed as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The future of New York City's congestion pricing programme hangs in the balance. On Wednesday, U.S president Donald Trump ordered the project be scrapped but New York governor Kathy Hochul insists it's here to stay. Hochul and her team have sued over the order and announced it would continue to collect the tolls until a federal judge tells it to stop. Jody Jacobs has more from New York.
