His government has ruled out reparations but a Commonwealth leaders' summit in Samoa has seen some member states urging a 'meaningful conversation' about the issue. King Charles opened the summit with an acknowledgement of inequalities that 'endure'.

1.5 million people evacuated in India as cyclone Dana makes landfall

  One and a half million people have been evacuated from India's Eastern coast as cyclone Dana made landfall on Friday. The storm is causing heavy rains and has disrupted air and road traffic. New UN report says greenhouse gas emissions “out of control”

    A new United Nations report suggests that annual greenhouse gas emissions are at an all-time high. The UN Environment Programme says urgent action must be taken to prevent catastrophic spikes in temperature and avoid the worst impact of climate change.
