Oshana region records increase in GBV cases

The Oshana Region is fighting a rising number of Gender-Based Violence and rape cases, which has become a challenge for authorities. EU and UNFPA unite to combat GBV in Namibia

The European Union (EU) delegation in Namibia on Wednesday signed a contribution agreement with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Namibia launches ’16 Days of Activism’ to combat gender based violence

Namibia has launched the annual "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence," campaign to address and prevent violence against women and girls. Running until 10 December, which is Human Rights Day, the campaign, led by the Governor of the Khomas Region, Laura McLeod-Katjirua, aims to raise awareness and advocate for the elimination of gender-based violence.
