Report on criminal case says there was enough evidence to convict Donald Trump

A report has been released detailing the Justice Department's case against U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Former Special Prosecutor Jack Smith had prepared a four-count indictment accusing Mr Trump of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes in 2020 – which had to be dropped as he is about to be president again. Caroline Malone has more from Washington.

Federal criminal cases against Donald Trump dropped

  US President-elect Donald Trump looks set to escape trial for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election result after investigators filed a motion to drop the case. Special counsel Jack Smith on Monday moved to dismiss the charges against the former President due to a long-standing Justice Department policy that bars the prosecution of a sitting President. Benji Hyer reports.

US election safety a top issue amid election fraud claims

  As voters head to the polls in Arizona - election workers' safety is a top concern. Maricopa County was an epicenter of false claims of election fraud in 2020. Many election officials were harassed and some even received death threats. Toni Waterman has more on efforts to keep workers safe from Phoenix, Arizona.
