Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken have discussed "the need to capitalize on" the killing of the Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar. During Tuesday's meeting in Israel Blinken also emphasised the need to get more aid into Gaza according to the State Department. Here's our Kate Fisher reporting from Washington:
The United States and NATO are reaffirming their commitment to Ukraine as the US prepares to host the North Atlantic Alliance's 75th anniversary summit in Washington DC next month. During a press conference on Tuesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg highlighted the increased defense spending by many NATO countries, which Blinken emphasized as "necessary to meet the challenges of this time."
