South Africa’s Lebombo Border Reopens for Cargo Amid Ongoing Safety Concerns on N4 Corridor

  In South Africa, the Lebombo border post in Mpumalanga has reopened for cargo transit after protests in Mozambique forced a temporary closure. Mozambican authorities are regulating truck numbers, while cross-border facilitators urge drivers on the N4 Maputo Corridor to proceed cautiously. Border Management Authority commissioner Michael Masiapato says safety concerns remain despite the reopening:

Namibia

NamRa conducts study at Trans Kalahari Border Post

The Namibia Revenue Agency will undertake the second Time Release Study from 15 to 25 January 2024 at the Trans Kalahari Border Post. The study has been developed by the World Customs Organisation to measure the actual time required for the release and clearance of goods, from the time of arrival until the physical release of cargo.
