Lebombo Border Operations Run Smoothly as South Africa Sees Holiday Surge

The Border Management Authority of South Africa says operations at the Lebombo port of entry run smoothly as holiday movements increase. The border experienced disruptions in recent weeks caused by protests linked to Mozambique’s recent elections. This led to extensive queues of trucks on the South African side, creating significant traffic congestion. BMA’s Mmemme Mogotsi says the processing of cargo on both arrival and departure is continuing as normal:

NamRa conducts study at Trans Kalahari Border Post

The Namibia Revenue Agency will undertake the second Time Release Study from 15 to 25 January 2024 at the Trans Kalahari Border Post. The study has been developed by the World Customs Organisation to measure the actual time required for the release and clearance of goods, from the time of arrival until the physical release of cargo.
