Update On Military helicopter and regional jet mid-air collision in Washington

  Here an update on our 10am news story...A major search and rescue operation is underway in Washington DC after a military helicopter collided in mid-air with a commercial jetliner that was making its final approach to Ronald Reagan National Airport in the center of the city. A total of around 60 people are feared to have been on board the two aircraft. From Washington, Simon Marks reports.

50 Boko Haram Fighters Killed in Ambush With Nigerian Security Officers Missing

  Reuters reports Breaking News on at least 50 Boko Haram fighters that were killed in a Tuesday ambush on a convoy overseeing Nigeria's power grid installations. Seven members of the country's infrastructure security force are missing. Despite ongoing military efforts to weaken the group, Boko Haram remains a persistent threat, continuing to target both civilians and government forces in deadly attacks.

Helicopter Crash in Nigeria Kills Three En Route to Offshore Oil Facility

  A helicopter crash in Nigeria claimed the lives of at least three people on Thursday while en route to an offshore oil production facility, according to the state-owned NNPC. Reuters indicates that the helicopter, operated by East Winds Aviation, lost contact during its flight from Port Harcourt to the Antan Floating Production Storage and Offloading facility. The aircraft was carrying eight individuals, including six passengers and two crew members.

Former Abercrombie boss arrested on sex trafficking charges

The former boss of Abercrombie and Fitch was arrested on Tuesday on sex trafficking charges. Mike Jeffries was arrested in West Palm Beach in the US state of Florida - two others are also facing criminal charges. They are expected to appear in federal court on Tuesday. Sally Patterson reports.
