Former Malawian President withdraws mediation in Zambian burial dispute

Former Malawian president Bakili Muluzi has stepped back from mediating the dispute over the burial of late Zambian president Edgar Lungu. The disagreement pits Lungu’s family, who want a private funeral in South Africa, against the Zambian government, which insists on a state funeral in Zambia. Lungu’s body remains in South Africa following a ruling by the Pretoria High Court.
