Action Society Backs Call for Police-Community Partnerships in S.A

  Action Society supports S.A Police minister Senzo Mchunu’s call for stronger partnerships between police and communities to fight crime. This follows the latest crime statistics showing over six-thousand-900 murders and eleven-thousand-800 rapes between 1 October and 31 December last year. In S.A, AfriForum has raised concerns over the decline of the police's reservist programme, which has shrunk by 90-percent in the past decade. Meanwhile, AfriForum’s 177 neighbourhood watches have grown by 15-percent in two years.
