Local youth address climate change ahead of COP29

The Local Conference of Youth Namibia 2024 is underway in the capital, with 50 youth delegates from across the country holding talks on solutions to the country’s climate challenges. Member of the organising committee and youth delegate to COP29, Jasper Kassoma.

Environment, Forestry, and Tourism Ministry Discusses COP29 Strategy

The Environment, Forestry, and Tourism ministry held a key meeting to finalize Namibia’s strategy for the upcoming COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, scheduled for November. Stakeholders from government, private sector, and civil society discussed national priorities like climate change mitigation and adaptation. A sponsorship of N$1,775,000 was also presented to support the Ministry’s efforts. Bernadette Shalumbu, The Environmental Investment Fund Manager Programmes and Programming.
