Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters Celebrate Court Victory as Democratic Triumph

The Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters view their successful re-registration as a significant win for democracy. During a press conference in Windhoek today, NEFF Deputy President Kalimbo Ipumbu celebrated their court victory against the Electoral Commission of Namibia. One Africa reports that he also criticized former member Michael Amushelelo, labeling him a coward for leaving the party after its deregistration by the ECN.

Women make up 54% of electorate, ECN

The Electoral Commission of Namibia has released the final voters register for the 2024 national elections, revealing a total of about 1, 449, 000 (1,449,569) registered voters, with women comprising 54% and men 46% of the electorate. ECN spokesperson, De Wet Siluka has more.     With 21,757 voters identified as having disabilities, we asked Siluka about the measures in place to accommodate these citizens.
