Namibia Pushes Water Security at AU Summit

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, represented by Minister Inge Zaamwani, took part in the AU-AIP Water Investment Summit to tackle Africa’s $30 billion annual water investment gap. Ministry spokesperson Simon Nghipandulwa highlighted that water security remains a strategic priority, with N$4.8 billion allocated in the 2025/26 budget and support from partners such as the African Development Bank and KfW.

30 New Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn In

30 new Peace Corps Trainees were sworn in at the town of Okahandja, starting their two-year commitment as Health and Economic Empowerment Volunteers. Since 1990, a total of 1,886 volunteers have worked on community projects across Namibia. With the addition of this group, 60 volunteers are now serving in regions from Lüderitz to Katima Mulilo.
