Pennsylvania results not expected on election night

  Pennsylvania has been a major focus for both the Trump and Harris campaigns, as polling shows the two candidates in a dead heat to claim the state's nineteen electoral college votes. Mozambique's opposition leader Venâncio Mondlane has called for a two-day strike to "paralyse" the nation following the controversial October 9 presidential elections, urging citizens to protest alleged fraud and violence against demonstrators. Bloomberg reports that the electoral authorities are expected to announce results by Thursday, amid rising tensions and EU observers noting irregularities in the counting process.

South Africa’s former president, Jacob Zuma, has said his political party - uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) - will join the opposition alliance in parliament. BBC Africa quotes Zuma as saying, it would co-ordinate resistance to the governing coalition led by the African National Congress.
