New National Connection Charge Code to Standardize Power Network Connections

The Electricity Control Board is set to replace its National Connection Charge Policy with a legally binding National Connection Charge Code. This change mandates the use of the NCC, ensuring standardized power network connections and charges. The new code will enforce compliance among industry players with national guidelines. Landlord welcomes government’s electricity tariff relief

Jacqueline Cloete, a landlord in Windhoek’s Damara Location in Katutura, has welcomed the government’s intervention to relieve consumers from the recently announced bulk and distribution utilities’ tariffs for the 2024/2025 financial year. The government is providing approximately N$365 million to subsidize electricity consumers, effective from July 1 ths year to June 30, 2025.
