Ministry of Mines Hosts Regional Chemical Safety Training

The Ministry of Mines and Energy is hosting a six-day advanced course in Swakopmund on protection and assistance during chemical incidents. Fourie Nhoni, the mines ministry’s Senior Public Relations Officer, says participants from Southern African countries will receive both theoretical and practical training to improve emergency preparedness.

Typhoon Usagi hits Philippines, tracking towards Taiwan

  Typhoon Usagi has swept through the north of the Philippines and is heading towards Taiwan. Authorities warned the storm could cause widespread flooding and landslides, with Usagi being the fifth typhoon in a month to hit the archipelago nation. Laura Westbrook reports.
