Eskom has announced the resumption of Stage 2 load-shedding

Eskom has announced the resumption of Stage 2 load-shedding, starting from 4 PM until 5 AM this morning. Load-shedding will then be suspended until 4 PM today, with this pattern expected to continue daily until Sunday afternoon. Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokoena has attributed the scale-down in power cuts to lower demand and a further improvement in generation capacity.

Eskom has announced that stage 4 load-shedding will persist throughout the week until Saturday. Eskom’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokoena, says this is due to higher-than-anticipated demand and strained emergency reserves. She says 22-thousand-244 megawatts of generation capacity is not available, forecasting a peak evening demand exceeding 28-thousand megawatts.
