Second US judge blocks Trump’s birthright citizenship order

A United States federal judge in Maryland blocked President Donald Trump's executive order preventing the children of undocumented migrants from receiving birthright citizenship. District Judge Deborah Boardman says the executive order runs counter to the country's 250-year laws of citizenship by birth and likely violates an 1898 Supreme Court decision on the issue. U.S States file lawsuit over Trump’s birthright citizenship order

  Eighteen US states have filed a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump's executive order removing the automatic right to US citizenship for almost anyone born in the country. The Supreme Court has previously upheld what's known as birthright citizenship on the grounds that it is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. Ira Spitzer has more.
