Sudan Extends Use of Chad Border Crossing to Aid Famine-Stricken Areas

Sudan’s sovereign council announced an extension for using the Adre border crossing with Chad. Reuters says this is a crucial for delivering food and supplies to famine-threatened areas in Darfur and Kordofan. Over 25 million people in Sudan face severe hunger, with parts of Darfur already experiencing famine due to ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and paramilitary forces.
