Romeo Muyunda, spokesperson for the Environment, Forestry, and Tourism Ministry, says officials are worried about continued disregard for laws and park regulations by visitors. The ministry has identified several major infractions and emphasizes the need for stricter adherence to park rules.
The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism is pleased with the progress in establishing special wildlife courts. In 2024, courts in Oshakati, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo handled 181 cases, finalizing 102. Ministry spokesperson Romeo Muyunda stated that efforts are ongoing to secure external funding to expand the initiative in collaboration with the Judiciary and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
