SA’s inflation drops to 3.8-percent

South Africa's inflation rate fell to 3.8 percent last month, down from 4.4 percent in August, marking the lowest rate since early 2021 mainly due to lower transport costs as fuel prices dropped by nine percent from last year. Statistics South Africa’s Patrick Kelly.

Fuel Prices Hold Steady for August

The Mines and Energy ministry has announced that fuel prices will remain the same for August. In Walvis Bay, petrol will continue at N$22.20 per litre, with diesel priced at N$21.57 for 50ppm and N$21.67 for 10ppm. The Ministry's Economist Taramaris Amadhila.

Significant Fuel Price Decreases Expected in South Africa in July

South Africa's Automobile Association predicts substantial fuel price reductions in July based on unaudited data from the country's Central Energy Fund. Petrol prices could drop by around one rand per litre, with diesel and paraffin prices potentially decreasing by approximately 30 cents and 25 cents per litre, respectively. Spokesperson Eleanor Mavimbela notes that this second consecutive monthly decrease will positively impact consumers and the economy.
