Ongoing winter storms have wreaked havoc across the city, resulting in damages in excess of 16.6-million-rand to date on power infrastructure alone. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says the city’s Area South, which includes Mitchells Plain, Muizenberg, Wynberg and Gugulethu, recorded the highest incidents of damaged infrastructure:
