S.A Court Sentences Vehicle Hijacker to 53 Years in Northern KwaZulu-Natal Crackdown

Following a crackdown on cross-border crime in northern KwaZulu-Natal, the Mtubatuba Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Sipho Mhlanga, a vehicle hijacker and smuggler linked to a syndicate transporting vehicles to Mozambique, to 53 years in prison. Mhlanga was found guilty of multiple charges, including murder and robbery. Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe announced a joint action plan with Mozambique aimed at curbing such crimes through regular cross-border operations.
